Racer building links with local businesses.

On Friday 11th March, the covers were removed for the start of the 2022 Hyundai Coupe Cup, as teams met at Donington Park for the start of season media day.

Amongst the teams was Desborough local, Roger Owens, who is returning to the series for a 4th year with hopes this year of running two cars in the series. Over the winter, working with Racetec motorsport, Roger has been developing a new car based on the very latest Coupe model, as well as rebuilding last year’s car ready for the new season. “We still have some work to do on the car to be competitive, no one has run this model before so we’re learning as we go. But the car feels good and with a fortnight until our next test and a month until our first race, time is very much on our side”.

As well as unveiling the new car, Roger Owens Racing were also very pleased to announce a new partnership with the North Northamptonshire Business Network. Also based in Desborough, the NNBN provides support for businesses in the North Northants area. On the new partnership, Roger said, “It was always my plan that we should be building partnerships with local businesses, and having met with Simon and the team at NNBN, I believe we can build an exciting offer for their members while also promoting the team”.
